About to start soon

I would put in a FAST call to your PB................you have a liner pool! If the bottom is not done right the liner will not fit!!!!

Is this a pre-made kit? Do they have the plans on site where you can put your hands on them?

I don’t think it’s a planning issue, or construction issue, more of a perception issue from picture to paint to seeing the actual pool. Maybe when we hit the lottery we'll add in a lazy river, a giant waterslide, and a shallow area for games. Oh, and a swim up bar.

I really think we just need it done so we can get swimming.

I grew up with a ginormous pool at my grandparents house so my thoughts on what a pool should be are a bit skewed.

It was I think 80x40 concrete lazy L. With an 11 ft deep end. Spring board and a slide. So the shallow end of that pool was probably 40x40. Wish I could have bought that house after my grandfather died but I was only 19 when my grandmother sold it.

If I ever find a picture I’ll post it.

Vermiculite in deep end is done. Really looking like a pool. Raining again so nothing happening today. About two days worth of grinding next week and then hopefully the liner will be in. Plumbing and electric work still need to get done.

I am willing to bet they have too many builds going on right now they are hopping from one build to the other....doing a little work here then a little work there HOPING that will everyone happy............"See we did some work on YOUR pool today!" kind of thing!

That’s definitely what it feels like. And not much got done this week with the 4th. Electrician starts Monday. Hopefully liner gets put in as well next week. My kids are getting very mad that they can’t swim yet. Maybe I’ll sic them on the PB.

Well, electrician came and did his thing. Unfortunately, the liner came and was 3 ft too long, or so my builder says (my wife is very skeptical. I think she wants to strangle our PB) so now we are another week behind schedule waiting for the new one. Pool shed construction starts next week as well. Starting Monday things should be flying around here.

???? Did he take the liner out of the box and try to install it??? Did you or your wife even see the liner??? I am with your wife on this one........my guess is he does not have a crew available to install it so he is telling this "story" so you will THINK he wanted to install it but it is wrong.

We never saw the liner, so who knows. My guess is he forgot to order it when we told him the color choice 3 weeks ago. His crew was most likely on another site as we saw them getting gas on the way to drop the kids off at camp. All this delay makes me feel better about dragging my feet to give them the next installment of money.

We need to apply for a board of health variance to put a bathroom in the pool house

"Pool House"???? I must have missed something... I thought that was a future goal.. I am sure you will be very happy with your decision to do it now verse later and tear everything up again. Besides there is nothing wrong with state collage anyway... :)

The variance should not be a big cost factor but you really need to keep on the town to push it through. Especially a small town. It just takes one cog in the wheel to be on vacation to hold the hole thing up. You will not regret the cost or inconvenience of getting a bathroom in the pool house.

The whole variance was a bit weird. We're on septic, so when we applied for the building permit the building inspector talked to health inspector who stated that the permit would be denied because we’d need a variance. I called the health inspector direct to get more info and figure out what provision of the title v we’d need to apply for a variance on. He had no idea and wasn’t very helpful. So now my engineer is trying to figure it out so we can get this done. It shouldn’t be an issue as our septic is big enough to support adding 3 more bedrooms to the house. So I’m just playing the waiting game to see what happens next.

I'll be enjoying my pool by Christmas at this rate. ?

Well, it started as a 30' x 30' garage/workshop but got shrunk considerably when we looked at our budget. ? so the garage is still a future goal.

I'm hoping my kids are smarter than me and go to trade school.
