OK, is there a brand of liquid chlorine you recommend and/or one I should stay away from? I ask because I have never had this problem before and the only thing I have done differently this year is buy my pool products from a hardware store INSTEAD of at the pool store as I had always done before.

Also, I can't find the testing kit that bmoreswim recommends on Amazon. The TF-100 with XL option and the Speedstir is out of stock on Amazon.

I just bought 30 litres! My testing kit is on order. I will do an overnight chlorine loss test tonight. My pool water is already looking better and now it's time for a martini! Thanks everyone (even the sassy ones)! Happy Canada Day if you're celebrating it. Or, Happy Revolution Day, if you are celebrating that instead. Either way, have a martini!

i dont believe you can buy the tf100xl kit in canada, you can get shipped to a mailing address over the border and then pick it up or buy the taylor k2006c
not sure in canada but usa recomend bleach, in australia liquid chlorine from pool shop or big hardware store has stronger percentage chlorine and works out cheaper
we do sound like a bunch of pushy *****, but in a years time you will be just like us
oops, that does sound like a cult....
when you see how clean your pool is and how cheap it is to maintain you will never look back
if you have some time google tfp sparkle and see some of the clean pools
