Doheny's Discovery, S200, Active20, Triton owners club

I didn't even know that the Dolphin iO was in the works. I think I'll limp this Doheny Discovery (S200) along until it dies and then start the Doheny iO owners thread when I get my new cleaner!!! I never thought when I took the plunge 3 years ago with my current robot and decided to make a post about it, that I would still be talking about it in post #1701.

Got my Active 30 on Friday, and put it to work in our Above-Ground pool over the weekend. It took two full 2-hr cycles, but got our pool cleaner than it has been in several years. Our previous aquabot never worked great, but as our vinyl liner started to wrinkle, it got worse and worse. But the A30 did a good job cleaning up all the stuff that was trapped against the wrinkles. Very happy with the purchase so far.

Seems like you're looking for something like THIS. I'd just measure to make sure the power supply fits.

I have an old weathered teak cart repurposed from other outdoor use to "cart around" the robot if needed (no caddie). I used one of these noted SockitBox waterproof boxes noted by @dallasaggie https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018HHMBW2 in the bottom tray of my cart to keep the Dolphin power supply, AC controller/timer, cord ends (dolphin ps is set to home automation mode to cycle as soon as the power goes on).

It's a little larger than it looks in the pic but it easily holds the PS and any other cord, controller bits to keep them dry if it rains. It's somewhat shaded on the bottom tray so I don't think I'll overheat, but I will check it during the day. Could probably vent it somehow and still keep it dry inside.

It is a little expensive for what it is, but it is a lot cheaper than a new PS.

I think after having my A20 for over a month I’m appreciating the ‘I’ll never need to manually vacuum again’ feeling. It does a fantastic job, but I’m babying now too, but finding I’m leaving it in the pool for longer periods. Wish it had a piggy-back robot to do the spa ?.

Well my brand new Active 20 is a dud. I've only tried to run it a couple times and was really disappointed with how it was cleaning the pool. I checked on it more today and found that it was shutting off after only a few min of running. Now when you try to turn it on, it attempts to move twice (~10-18" each time), and then just stops moving and sits there.

Marina/Margaret did say when I was shopping for mine last week that there was some issue with their shipment of active 20s, and suggested the s200 for my purchase.

Almost a member of the club. Ordered the S200 today - they are waiting for a shipment, but we are first in line when they come in! Super excited. We are still 2 weeks before we can use a robot (still in first 30 days of new pebblesheen) but should be ready to go when we can start up the vacuum. Thanks for all the info and advice here!

New to the S200 club. Have a new pool, so I ran a it last night, cleaned basket this morning, and attempted to start another cycle. The unit only ran about 25 seconds and stopped. After several attempts, I was able to find some direction online to correct the issue and it is working fine now. I can’t seem to get the speed or delay function to work, but haven’t really looked into it since I’ve been trying to clear up the cloudy water.

Care to share the fix for your issue.... might help others with a similar problem. Thanks

Wasn’t sure about linking other websites, but the copied steps are below. Note on step 5, mine ran for several minutes, not the 30-45 seconds.

1) Unplug everything. Unplug the power supply from the outlet and the Dolphin from the power supply.

2) Let the whole thing sit a couple of minutes (we want to allow any capacitors to discharge).

3) Be sure the Dolphin is out of the water and sitting upside-down on a level surface (Tracks pointing skyward).

4) Reconnect the Dolphin to the power supply and the power supply to the outlet.

5) With the Dolphin still out of the water, perform a self-test. Simply turn on the Dolphin. Within about 15 seconds it should begin to move. The tracks will spin in both directions with and without the impeller motor running at the same time. It is not unusual for the tracks to rotate at different speeds during this test. The test will last for 30 - 45 seconds or so. If it goes on indefinitely, turn it off and contact us for further direction.

6) Assuming the unit has now worked to this point, you should be able to put it back in the water and it will return to normal operation from this point on.

S300 on the way from Marina. By far the cheapest around. I tried an older S300 Demo unit from the local pool store and it worked surprisingly well. Without the "swivel" cord tangles were minimal. I expect the swivel function will be that much better. Unfortunately they couldn't come close to Marina's price and wouldn't budge... So Marina gets my business.

Fedex tried to deliver our S200 today, but we weren't home. Thought it was going to be tomorrow. No worries, though. Hopefully I can pick it up on the way home tonight. :)

I was able to get in touch with Marina today and my Active 20 is on the way. After 6 years of manually cleaning my pool, I never thought I would buy a pool cleaner; cheers to me!

I did!!! OMG, he picked up SO MUCH CRUD!
So, I wanted a pool, hubby doesn't want to mess with pool maintenance.
SWCG - check
Screen enclosure - check
Robotic cleaner - CHECK!
Now he's noticing how much less lawn he has to mow. :)
