This is my first pool opening (Pics of pool equipment on this thread). As per advice on here, I paid the pool company that closed my pool to open my pool, watched and learned to the best of my ability. They removed the cover, reinstalled the ladder, took out the plugs from the pumps, took out whatever device they use in the skimmer during the winter. I asked them to clean my intelichlor 40 which they said was still pretty clean. They cleaned my Jandy Pool Filter during closing last season. The guy opening the pool said they didn't do a great job putting it back together and spent some time closing the outer ring on it. They also replaced a small pipe that was leaking. Then they added some DE and shocked the pool and added some algeacide.
After they left, I was able to vacuum my pool twice. I made sure to clean both baskets (skimmer and pump) each time. I left my pool pump on over 4 days as per their instructions, the water was pretty cloudy for 3 days or so. I noticed after the first vacuum that the intellichlor was blinking red/green as if there was not enough flow or the salt levels were not correct, but since I still needed to do another vacuum, I didn't think much of it and assume it would something I could sort once I started the process of balancing the pool.
I went to do a final vacuum today and noticed that there was no flow at all in my pool, when I go to the areas where water would normally be flowing outwards, there is none, in addition, there is no suction where the vacuum would go in the skimmer. I looked for debree inside the pipes and in the impeller, but couldn't find anything. When I turn on the pump, water swooshes around in side the pump basket. I tried turning the pump onto backwash to see if maybe it would clear something out, but I didn't notice any water actually exiting the pipe where I would expect it to.
In addition, the PSI indicator remains at 0 when I turn on the pump.
I assume this is pump related, but not 100% sure what to be looking for or how to troubleshoot.
Any tips or what to look for would be appreciated. I will be calling the pool company on Monday (they are closed on Sundays), but maybe there is something I am overlooking. I keep reading things on forums such as - the hayward pump may not prime or might not get suction, but I am unsure how to test this or what to look for. A lot of the help videos basically just say - "there may be a clog in the pipes" somewhere, but I don't really understand how to figure that out either.
I think the first step I will take is locate a drain bladder, and maybe try to push out to see if anything is stuck, but I am never sure if this is a bad thng to try. I also have no clue how to tell if a pump is broken or not.
Please note: Logically I am suspicious a little that the pool and everything worked fine last year (my first year with it) and now I am having problems using a new company to open the pool. It could just be coincidence. It could be that something has legitimately broken. I am unsure. So I am trying to understand as much as I can before calling them as well.
