Good day all,

A friend down here in the Caribbean island of Dominica is looking to revamp his system.

The pool is a fiberglass insert from iGUi, POIPU model, Brazil I believe. It came with a cheesy pump/filter/SWG setup. and we're looking to improve all things with the following. Just looking for any input from you knowledgeable pool peeps.

It's a 10,235 Gal with deepest portion about 4 1/2 ft.

- Pentair - Superflo VS, 1.5HP pump
- Waterco Micron S602 ECO 24" sand filter
-CircuPool SJ-20 SWG

Any thoughts??

Cheers

Don

-CircuPool SJ-20 SWG

I think you should look at the RJ instead of the SJ. If I remember correctly the SJ changes polarity on 2 hour intervals. Whenever your timer turns the SWG off and on it resets itself. There are a few things that make the RJ cells better.

With a -20 in a 10K pool you will have to run the pump 12 hours a day and the cell around 90%-100%. Getting a -30 or -45 cell gives you much more flexibility in lower pump run time and longer cell life. You will not have to run the cell at 90%-100%.

Thanks AJW22

I did mention to buddy about the more 'advanced' RJ. He leans towards the simplicity of the SJ. However, your comments about Chlorine production make good sense. We've decided to go with the SJ-40 (again, he likes the simplicity. lol) which is only $100 more and theoretically will get more years use.

Thanks for the advice

Don

I beleive pentair has bundles with easy touch and a salt cell. Would make it much easier to control and give flexibility to the system later on. Would control the pentair VS pump. I'm a fan of cartridge filters the bigger the better. I clean mine once a year. I looked at circupool when I built mine last year but a few hundred more got me a Hayward prologic bundle and a 40k Hayward cell and it talks to my VS pump I'm so glad I ended up with automation and my pool is simple but wife just pushes a button no asking questions
