Any reviews yet on the new Polaris Quattro?

so far it appears to be very good but I'll give it a few days to make the final call. My pool is filthy- My old 380 has been limping for months and doing nothing for 2 weeks. We are coming off acorn/leaf season and my pool is surrounded by live oak trees. We are now in peak Oak Pollen season (wash your car in the am, it's green and covered in squigglies by mid afternoon. Every. Dang. Day). On top of all that, we had a hellacious rain storm last night and all morning today so whatever was holding on in the trees is now in my pool. I have basically been handling all of it manually and have not vacuumed at all so it's a hot mess. got the Quattro all set up and dropped it in. Noticed the RPM's were a little low and also noticed the pressure relief valve was leaking. Checked and it was barely screwed in. Got that fixed and the RPM's dialed in right at 30. You can see the swaths of clean cut through the leaves and dirt that were on the floor of my pool. Pretty cool to see but there really are no spots it can run over and not pick up something. Emptied twice in 30 minutes- the large filter was packed full both times and there was plenty of sand/silt in the fine filter both times. Like I said- it really had nowhere to go that it shouldn't be picking up something so at the minimum, it is doing the job as expected. Now that the pool is more under control, I'm letting it run 2 hours without touching it to see how it does. It does easily climb the walls and scrub them up to the tile line. This is what I am most excited about having in this cleaner. I can't compare it to a robot since I have never used one but it does appear to scrub the floor, walls, and tile as they say it does.

Pics below are after about 15 minutes (it was a target rich environment down there). The second cleaning had about twice as much in the fine filter.

I'm putting it through the paces and it has responded very well so far. I'll update after a few days as it is being used more like it will be every day.

Pool was 85-90% clean in 45 min. So much faster than my 380. They say that since it never leaves the pool surface (it does not have a back up valve like the 3 wheel Polaris cleaners) that it cleans much faster. I can verify that is definitely the case. It's been going about an hour and a half now and there are only 8-10 leaves left scattered about on the bottom. It's still very windy out so it's hard to tell if those blew in or it still has a little clean up left to do. Either way, it made very short work of a very dirty pool today. I feel a since of relief that it appears to be working as advertised. I hate buying stuff with no history or reviews but my 380 was dead and it's Polaris week at the big pool chain ($325 in rebates on this one that ends today). Had to make a move if I was going to go this route.

Below is a pic of it cleaning the tile at the water line and another of the same pool 45 min after the dirty pics above.

Thanks for your update. I am in the same position, broken down Pentair Racer. Looks like I might have missed the Polaris rebate though, checking with the local Pinch a Penny
I am very happy with it. It did a fantastic job in the most difficult time period for my pool (leaves, plus pollen, plus rain storms). I thought it missed few spots yesterday but when I took it out the filter was bursting full again. It couldn't hold anymore. Once I cleaned it out, it had the pool in great shape very quickly. hit all the corners and odd spots I was watching for. We had leaves and pollen in there again today and it was all cleaned up in 45 minutes. I let it run 2 hours just to brush the walls but it made quick work of the debris on the bottom. Very happy so far.

I’m guessing, based on his original post, because you don’t have to drag a chord across your patio for it to function. That chord is why I haven’t pulled the trigger on a robot yet. This is interesting.

My only point is that up til now the debate was in choosing between the less-expensive-to-buy-but-more-expensive-to-run pressure side cleaner versus the pricier robots. I get the cord issue, but pulling my robot out after a cleaning cycle and rolling it into my shed takes a minute. The pressure-side avoids the power cord but has (in my opinion) a more obtrusive hose 24/7. They'd be smarter to offer more for less, but more-for-more doesn't make it a compelling product.

agreed

Wait, this is a pressure-side cleaner priced like a robot??? Why??

The whole purpose of having an automated cleaner for me is so I don't have to babysit it. I don't want to have a separate power supply and an extension cord sitting on my pool deck all the time. Plus I travel a lot and don't want to worry about my power supply being out in the rain or not having my pool cleaned while I'm gone. I love the "set and forget" nature of having a pressure side cleaner- plus I already had a brand new booster pump and all the infrastructure for a pressure side cleaner. I would have gone with a robot over the old school Polaris pressure side if this new model were not available but it was a perfect fit for me. It does everything a robot does but has the convenience of a pressure side cleaner. If I was building a pool, I would skip the pressure side altogether and get a robot. Since I already had all that, it was a better fit for me.

After another day of watching it work, I am very happy with my decision. It's the best cleaner I have ever had hands down. And it stays in the pool and cleans even in the driving rain.

Hooked my new Quattro up Sunday and it is cleaning as advertised. Had to change out the restriction plate to get the proper wheel rpm. So far it climbs the walls and goes sideways on wall for about 2 feet. FYI >>> I was able to use the same booster pump that came with the Pentair Racer cleaner I retired.

It looks pretty neat. Also looks like the cyclone spinners are the same as the MX6 and MX8 cleaners, as an MX8 Elite owner I like that for parts availability down the road. But even at a discounted price, I'm not sure I would have gone for the Quattro if it was out when I chose the MX8. I got the Elite for $400 after a rebate. I invested another $100ish to get and hook up a hayward canister that this wouldn't need, so for a bigger pool this might work pretty good.

Besides any logical reasons that people have for getting suction side cleaners, sometimes you have to deal with people like my mother as well. And to those people, electric cord + pool water = toaster + bathtub with movie logic.

If this Quattro performs like a better or bigger version of the MX8 Elite, its gonna be really nice, especially if after a while the price comes down. It'll be interesting to see what the rebuild kits cost for them.

I was sick of watching my trusty Polaris 380 limp around the pool so retired it after 22 years. Picked up a Quattro during Polaris days - guess i paid $780 ($110 off plus i am waiting for my $200 rebate).
Very easy to use the old port and hook it up, no tail and no bag is a plus, for once i don't have to use my basket on a pole to get the 30 worms after every rainstorm.
one question - the pool guy at Leslies said take it out when not using ......not a good idea because you have to lay on the decking to decouple and you don't want to mess with the hose connections.....so i called Polaris and they said leave it out of the pool at least 3 nights a week to reduce water wear, With my 380 it stayed in the pool 24x7 for 4 months for 22 years (although it did fade in color).
Also keeping it out overnight you will lose water if your main pump comes on first next morning. Any opinions about leaving it in or out 24x7?

The whole reason I stuck with my pressure side setup was to leave it in the pool. My Racer stayed in pool for 4 years and never had a problem that was caused by the water, just the poor engineering that went into it. The gears that drive the wheels on the Quattro are so much better designed than the drive shaft the Racer used.
