Shotcrete (input needed)

Hello all we moved to a new home and are doing a BYOP build. We got our shotcrete last week. When they did the shotcrete they placed our sheer descent in what would be the very middle of the swimming area of the pool (where we wanted the deepest part of the pool). But its not centered in the raised bond beam area. The white pipe is what I would consider the center of the raised bod beam area. The raised bond beam has an arch to it and the cut out is in the center of the apex. It looks a bit off to me but I'm a very symmetrical thinking person.
What are your thoughts on how this will look/work in the real world.

It looks like they tried to center it with the main body of the pool. Go out and measure it from the end of the step to the far wall. Is it centered to that? BUT even if that is what they did if you do not like the placement tell them and have them move it.

Me? I think it looks fine there. Once you get water in it you will not even notice it is not right over the dip in the pool.

To avoid any further problems with the build, make sure that every detail is specified.

Was there a design plan that they were supposed to use or did you just assume that the sheer would go where you thought it should go?

I agree with kim. My eye sees it as centered on the pool portion, if you ignore the shelf. I think its going to look better there then moved to the right, but I also agree that EVERYTHING has to be spelled out, and try and be there for critical portions of the build.

Nope, that would drive me nuts. It needs to be centered on the wall. Once you have water in the pool, you won't notice the shelf so much, it will be viewed as one big body of water and that descent will be off center.

Yeah, they centered it from the shelf to the left side. I agree right now it looks weird, but once you toss a couple of chairs on that shelf, that’s when it will look good. Furthermore, you can use landscaping to “center” it even more.

I do have a question for you. Are you taking your first step down into the pool on the right side, then walking across the ledge to the left side, then the final step down into the main part of the pool?

Thanks for the replies.
The top of the raised bond beam is 25' long. The sheer descent pipe is right at 12'3". The center of the cut out is 14'6". So the pipe is just about centered.
I think that once the pool is complete it will look like a body of water and the left of center cut out will look even more obvious. I'm getting quotes to either have it moved over or just widened for a bigger sheer descent. Depending on the cost I might even have it filled in and use bowls of some sort as water features.

I do have a question for you. Are you taking your first step down into the pool on the right side, then walking across the ledge to the left side, then the final step down into the main part of the pool?

There are (1st) steps on both sides of the shelf.

It’s really 6 one way and half a dozen the other. Go with what seems right to you. It shouldn’t be more than a few hours labor to move the cut to where you want it and fill in the old.
