Cost to run a chiller or cooler???

What Casey means is a simple PVC fountain, run at night to benefit from the cooler air, will cool a pool down too. No charge :)

Skippy's fountain in my signature is one example of a homemade fountain. The small drops do the trick. It also comes in handy if you ever need to raise your pH.

What if the pool water is 80 degrees and the ambient air-temp is 78-80 degrees Either way, cool design and nice job. one question, did cap the end of the pvc before you drilled holes? I was thinking you'd leave the ends open so you could remove the debris from the drilled holes, yes? :)

Does anyone know how much it costs to run a pool chiller or cooling system?

Thanks

We would need to know the following...What are the electric rates in your area? What is the Full load Amps draw of the unit you are looking at? What is the cooling capacity of the unit? How much temperature drop are you looking for? Size of pool (gallons)? Your local supplier should be able to provide all of this info for you.

Yup, Skippy says he only capped the ends after using a long refrigerator coil cleaning brush to clear out the drilling debris.

If this fountain can cool our pool in hot, humid Georgia by 5 degrees in 24 hours, I'm sure it will help an Austin pool too.
