What did you do to your pool today?

We did part of our spring cleaning this weekend. Opened up the filter and pulled out the cartridges - we tested our new Worx Hydroshot and it was a great way to clean the filters without using much water. It works sort of like a pressure washer but with much less pressure. I think it gets up to a max of 300psi depending on the hose pressure.

The filters cleaned up nicely and we probably used less than half of the water compared to our normal hose.

We also cleaned the SWCG which had a bit of calcium scale build up.

Checked levels this morning had a good rain last night . All TFP perfect thanks. Even my ph is more stable this last two weeks down to adding MA two times a week 8 ounces since going salt it was up and down more but A OK now. Oh ya swam yesterday afternoon, after working garden all day including rock and brick pad under my wife's tree swing . Man i love the warm weather

Last night I tried to determine how large in volume my pool actually is. I went out to vacuum around 7:15, and took a sample of the clean water at 7:30. I didn't get around to testing until around 8:15ish, but it took 17 drops to go clear (FC=8.5). I poured a full 128 oz. gallon of 12.5% LC in the water and tested about a 1/2 hour later in order to establish an OCLT baseline and my FC was 15.5. At the volume I had estimated, FC should have been 14, tops (8.5 +5.3). The pool passed the OCLT, but I plan on hiking FC up again tonight just to see what I see. I so want to reduce pump timing from 24/7 to...well...less.

My sample bottle is clear. Could some chlorine have burned off under the artificial light on my kitchen counter?

These propellers!!! They have kept me very busy the last few days. I have pulled pounds of them out of the skimmer and "Gary" and they keep twirling down. ::sigh::

Added a bit more CYA, and rescued a dragonfly from drowning. I like to think he was smiling as he flew away.

Tested all chems and made an adjustment to pH. CSI sitting at -.39 but this will be just fine as the water temp increases from 83 to about 87 later this afternoon and pH rises from aeration! TFP life is good :D
