oh yeah!Plumbing is going in today! Pretty awesome to see it all coming together. The pool took about 30 hours to fill from the garden hose! One question I have is how long can the water just sit there without having any chemicals added? I turned the hose off about 20 hours ago.
What size is that equipment pad?
I have basically the same equipment and they used 7'x 4' = 28 sq ft total.
Yours just seems a bit compact, and from the drone pics you don't seem limited on space.

+1 I would get some bleach in there right now and stir it with a net or the brush. Don't wait any longer! I'd go with 2 gallons of 8.25%.

No chlorine until Day 3.
TA and pH adjustments right away (hence, the filtering).

I would dilute chemicals in a 5-gal bucket o water, before dumping them in. Others here will disagree. Either way, I wouldn't put any chemicals into the water until the circulation is cranking.
Brush, brush, brush, brush, brush, brush! You need to keep any plaster dust from settling on the new finish, and you need to get the dust out of the water ASAP (hence, the filtering).
Put the petal to the metal to get the pump running. That should have already been done, sorry to say...
Yes, you have to guard against algae, but these first few days are more about the plaster than the water. You just don't want to have to SLAM a new finish, so you can't ignore the algae potential.

Looks like a booster pump is going in... Are you going with the Polaris after all?
And without a different angle I can't be sure, but it looks like that pump is going to be drawing water after the SWG? That doesn't seem right to me...
And why is there a valve after the SWG? Not a three-way, but a shut-off valve? I must be missing something, outside of the pic. No separate runs to the returns?

I am ok with compact when it comes to the equipment... I plan to either landscape around it (smaller the better) or put a small shed over the equipment.

Yes sticking with the Polaris! I read all the intel in pool school and threads on the forum for all the different systems... I like this system for now... time will tell...
As far as the valve after SWG... bit greek to me. Is there something I need to address Dirk with the PB? I would rather do it now than later! FWIW, this PB is good.. .he only does high end custom pools.... my neophyte pool knowledge gives him the trust badge so far.... You all are amazing on the other hand... I am so thankful for this forum and all the active experts!

Electrician is coming tomorrow (fingers crossed) so should have some flow... was told by PB that the Monday the chemicals would be going in....
I brushed the entire pool today... I will brush again tomorrow... and every day for the next 4 weeks!
In the market for solar heater... there is no heater on this build.... it is not a money object, but rather a Georgia 100 degrees with 100% humidity issue... I have been researching the forum and found Issac-1's post...
This would be a post build solar heater... is it feasible? Plumbing? I am not impressed with the "solar roller" and I did see the DIY solar roller thread...
The solar heaters are ugly, but I like the concept.... Any opinions on the solar covers that are not form fitted, but rather like lilly pads?

I'm sure the PB knows more about pool hydraulics than I do, which is next to nothing. And I shouldn't be commenting on plumbing that's not even connected yet. But that's never stopped me before!!
There may be a perfectly good reason for that valve after the SWG. It just seemed odd to me. If it is, in fact, a shut off valve, then if it's shut when the pump is on, the water, the pressure, would have no place to go. Just something to ask the PB about: what it's for, and if there's any chance of a problem for the system should it get turned off inadvertently. I'd be interested to learn what it's for.
Regarding the booster: the pump needs to draw water from somewhere, and then boosts the pressure on its way to the Polaris. In the pictures, it looks like there is a PVC T fitting, right after that "mystery valve" with a reducer in it, right next to what looks to be the 1.5" PVC pipe for the pressure port (the pipe that will lead to the Polaris), also with a reducer in it. Since they're right in front of the booster pump, and look exactly how mine was connected, I'm guessing that's what those two are for. And if they are, the T/reducer is where the booster will be drawing its water. Which is after the SWG, which produces super-chlorinated water. The rule of thumb is that the SWG (really any chlorination system) goes last, after everything, so that chlorinated water goes right to the pool, and not through anything else, like a heater or a solar system. Presumably that's because that much chlorine, all the time, will eventually wreak havoc on machinery. So maybe that doesn't apply as much to a booster pump, but maybe it does. Another question to ask the PB. My booster was plumbed just before my chlorinator, which is why I spotted this on your system. Again, I'd be interested to hear about your PB's take.
Twice a day is recommended by NPC. What I was told: new plaster can shed dust, and that dust can settle back on the plaster and stick, permanently, which will affect the feel and look of the finish. By brushing the plaster, you keep the dust from sticking, sending it into the water instead, where circulation sucks it into the skimmer to be filtered out of the water. My new pebble didn't shed any dust, because they acid washed it the day after they installed it. So I probably didn't have to brush at all. I never saw even a puff of dust. But I brushed it anyway, twice a day, just in case...
Our pb has stipulated 4 times a day brushing and the pebble will be acid washed before fill.
I hope your electrics are connected soon so you can get your pump and filter going. I wouldn’t have thought they would pebble before everything else is ready to go, but as you say, he builds top end pools so I’m sure he knows what he’s doing and all will turn out fine.
Chatted with the PB today.. he said 10 days is the max amount of time to allow the water to not have circulation. The electrician was out today and will be back tomorrow, and the water will be circulating on monday, which will be 5 days from the fill date. We have been brushing and the kids have been swimming... water is starting to get a bit cloudy... Ready to get the flow started and chems in!
So the PB has the filter system up and running, but he only has it programed to run for 2 or 3 hours in the morning. This is a bit concerning to me, so I brought it up to him, he said it was fine... I really wish I knew how to operate the equipment so I could have the pump/filter run more hours in the day.
Also last week they put some clorine tabs in the skimmers while I was out of town. So when I returned from work, I tested the water for FC and there is NONE? The sample never turned pink when I added the DPD powder... I even added an extra 3 scoops and not a tint off of clear... I cant explain? I figure since the pump is only running 2 hours a day in the morning, all the clorine is stuck in the skimmer and not being ciruculated?
I dont want to step on PB toes, i have already expressed my concerns and was told in nice way to shut up and color. I am very hesitant to go messing with the equipment without having been briefed on its operation by the PB... but I really want that pump running more hours of the day?... UGG

Not good to have tabs sitting with no flow. I would have continuous flow at a medium speed.
Kind of between a rock and a hard place. I have expressed my concern, but have not been handed the keys to the car so to speak....

I continue to be dumbfounded by this somewhat common occurrence (based on numerous threads here). A PB mis-managing a brand new pool startup, and a pool owner unable to take over because of the warranty. The former a complete mystery, and latter completely understandable, both unfortunate, and avoidable.
My thoughts on it, which, much like your concerns, are being politely ignored. That's OK, I'm not a TFP expert, I've only managed one pool, so who am I to say anything? But I felt I should, and so I did, and that's all I can do about...
