Recently relocated to to Henderson NV from the So Cal area and part of the process as far as getting the wife on board with the move, was the purchase of a swimming pool. So, I bought a swimming pool that happened to have a house as part of the deal, so here I am!

I have been lurking here picking up tidbits of information on maintaining proper water chemistry and I sure am glad this resource is available! Kudos to all those who have put this site together as well as contributing members. Not sure where I would be concerning the state of my pool chemistry had I needed to rely on the clerks at the local pool super center(s)

Looking forward to participating in the forums.

Hello Wendell! Welcome! Fellow Southern Nevadan here.

Order a TF100 test kit with SpeedStir from TFTestkits.net! Especially the SpeedStir - we have to test really high levels of CH here and it makes it alot easier to do with the SpeedStir.

Ask questions - lots of folks here to help out.

Take care.

Excelent advice. I wound up getting the Taylor K-2006 a few months ago and purchased the Speed-stir shortly thereafter. The drop swirl method got old, fast! The 2006 kit beats the Pentair 78 test kit that came with the house.

Real happy with this setup.

Good Job. Now, that is a very small kit (does not appear to be a K2006C) when it comes to the FAS-DPD and CYA reagents. Be ready to order additional reagents for those as you will need them.
TFTestkits.net carries all the replacements.

Almost out of the the FAS-DPD reagents, so will be ordering replacement soon. I got my CYA a bit on the high side at 70, so been running FC up to 15 ppm and adding chlorine when it hits 8 or so. Gets me about 2 days between additions when the sun is shining bright.
