New to Pools and FL

We have been lurking on the forum for a month now and have found the site very very helpful. Our pool is 19,300 gallons of pebble tech, SWG by Jandy, new construction, first filled 4/25, salt on a month later and we are doing the pool maintenance and chemistry the past two weeks. We just bought the TF100 kit and found our results were quite different than the two pool stores we had been using to test water. Rebecca at TF says to believe the TF100 so we have stayed true. All tests (TA,CH,pH, all of them) have been PERFECT at the stores with Pinch (FC 4) and Leslie (FC 6). But our TF100 drop test said 13. It has been raining here off and on for a couple of days, but we are driving the FC down by shutting off the SWG the last two days (now down to 9 yesterday). Testing is addicting! Got the kit 6/1 and may need more test chemicals soon...

This forum has been unbelievably helpful and reassuring!

Thank you

Thanks! Still have the SWG turned off. Been raining or cloudy for a couple of days so not seeing a lot of movement down in FC. Down to 8 using the drop test. All else is perfect. I have been going to the neighbors asking to test their pools after their pool guy leaves. That has been interesting! If I can believe the TF100, their pools are not well managed.

If they use a pool service they are not. A pool service shots the FC WAY up in hopes it will last until next week when they come back. They very seldom do much else. They will add some pucks and run out the gate to the next pool.

If they are using a pool store to test they are not balanced as most pool stores get the tests wrong or their acceptable levels are not what we have found to be the best based on solid science. Again the testing is, very likely, not done more that once a week so.........again not good enough.
