Does anyone know the best way to clean the fan that is located at the back of the pump. It appears the cover comes off with 3 screws. Is it as simple as taking the cover off and wiping off the fan blades. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Second question this is connected to my easy touch so I am bypassing the controls on the pump. What is the best speed to be running on a 30,000 gallon salt water pool? Plaster bottom.

Thanks in advance,

Greg

Greg,

The whole point of having a variable speed pump is so that you can decide what speed you want the pump to run for your specific situations...

Here are "my" speeds that work for me, but they may not be the same as what works best for you...

I run most of the time to generate chlorine from my SWCG. My flow switch just closes at 1,100 RPM, so I normally run the pump at 1,200 RPM.

To help with Skimming action, I ramp the pump up to about 1,800 for an hour a few times a day.

When I run my waterfall wall, it looks best at 3,000 RPM..

I often change the speeds because it is so easy to do with ScreenLogic. If you don't have it, you might want to check it out. Costs about $360 bucks and lets you control your pool from your PC, tablet or phone. Makes programing and changing schedule as simple as clicking an icon..
