I have determined that I have a leak in my light-box and I need to repair it.

Pool: '98 Parker Pools in-ground fiberglass
Light: Jacuzzi Brand with no apparent external retention mechanism.

How on earth do I remove this light? The only reference I could find to the Jacuzzi brand lights is when they are used in Jacuzzi's they can only be accessed from the back side. That isn't possible in the fiberglass pool light-box. Am I missing something?

The light does appear to have a bead of caulk around it. Do you think it's possible somebody re-purposed the light from a Jacuzzi into the pool and just caulked it to hold it in place?

Pictures would really help here.

Is there a single screw at the top of the retaining ring. There should be. It may be caulked over. You should be able to remove that screw and the ring will drop down. You may need to use a knife to break the caulk.

There are no screws anywhere on the ring, that's what has me dumbfounded.

I will take pictures as soon as I can. I will preface with, "don't judge the nastiness of my pool". We just bought the place last fall, I was deployed through the winter, and the cover has been off because it was leaking water... it looks terrible.

Whatever you've got we've seen worse. :)

I believe there are some light rings that have tabs that fit into slots and then turn a few inches to lock it in. Try rotating it counterclockwise to see if the bezel will rotate. The caulk (that shouldn't be there) won't make that any easier.
