New Build in North Texas (Frisco)

All good stuff! You will LOVE the wall whale brush..........it is the Mack Daddy of brushes! The skimmer angel will help keep your hands out of spiders and such that find your skimmer basket!!! One day I will have a magic stirrer LOL

Finally some visible progress to report. After getting the schedules of the fence guys and pool guys in sync (which is no easy task), the fence is out of the way and the work on the decking, planters and retaining walls have commenced.

Now, where is that concrete guy?

I bet the dogs (and you) cannot wait to be able to go in the back yard again!

How in the world did you get those two to talk/work together?? NICE JOB!

Kim:kim:

They can't wait to get their yard back. I'm going to take them out there today and let them sniff around. It will be a big adventure for them.

As for getting the PB and fence guys to work together, it is like getting cats to walk in a parade!

Some bad news. The deck forms failed inspection. Something to do with the bonding wires not being connected properly. :(

So we have to delay everything a few days until that can be fixed and re-inspected. And of course there is rain in the forecast for next week.

NO! That is such an important part of the safety of your pool too!

I bet it only takes them 5 mins to fix but forever to get the inspection scheduled and done.

I have a sad for you :(

Take pics of the dogs exploring their new yard!

Kim:kim: (LOVE the pic)

Awesome lookin pool. I like the cooler colors, and the shape contrast of the convex and concave curves. Really nice.

Thanks. I've never felt so underqualified for anything more in my life than trying to work with these pool salesmen to design a pool. I took some big swings with the curved bench and the Grecian corners. But now that it's been built, it I am pretty happy with it.

When designing the pool, we decided to lower it down a bit from the patio. I like different levels. So we put a raised wall at the back of the pool, and stepped down coming off of the covered patio. Not, much, but enough where we needed a couple of steps. They added the raised flower beds yesterday, and today they added the steps. I am really happy with how they came out. I love the contrast in materials. It makes me want to stain or cap my bland patio now. :)

LOVE it! What are the steps made of?? What will you put IN the flower beds?

Kim:kim:

The steps are Oklahoma flagstone I believe. As for the flower beds, I have no idea what to put in them. Something bushy and colorful. But that is the extent of my knowledge on such things. I have a landscaper coming out next week.

I've also considered faux outdoor flowers and/or bushes. Something that will have year around color, look good, and require zero maintenance. Oh yea, and not drop anything into the pool. Still researching that.

Well, we've been in a lull for a little while now. Not a lot of activity to report. We've had a few days of rain here and there and I guess that pushes everyone back. But yesterday the cleanup crew came out and cleaned ever up (except the fence.) And today the sprinkler guys came out and put the sprinklers in.

Clean up??????? OH yeah! Sprinklers? YES! Movement at all is good! How are the dogs doing? Are they about to drive you crazy with wanting their yard back?

Kim:kim:

Yep, the pups are going nuts. They desperately want their yard back. And their grass back. And their dog window in the fence back. Today I got confirmation that the fence guys will be here Monday. So if the weather holds, and I don't jinx it, and the Gods are on my side, I could have the dog's side of the yard sodded and open for business before Thanksgiving. Fingers crossed because I will have 6 dogs in my house on Thanksgiving and it would be awesome if they had grass to go out and play on instead of mud.
