Opening Our Fiberglass Pool

I never SLAM my pool on opening. If there are no signs of algae why bother?

Add your salt after opening. Salt will take 24 hours or more to dissolve so get it going.

Add liquid chlorine up to maybe half SLAM level.

Check your pH and CYA and adjust as needed.

Resume your normal pool care routine.

No big change from whatever you've done in the past to open the equipment/plumbing up....
Test your chem levels and salt.
If your salt level is low (and it shouldn't be too low assuming you haven't been losing water) take it back up using PoolMath to guide you on how much to add. Keep the SWG OFF for a day after adding salt.
If your water is sparkling clear, and your levels good... take your FC up to your desired level (based on CYA) with liquid chlorine, until the SWG is up and running. Remember that the water needs to be warm enough for the SWG to work, generally over 60º.
