New pool build with contemporary grotto

While your getting the ball valves replaced, you need unions on the features pump pipes. The good unions are $17 each and like the ball valves, the PB isn't charging you the super discount price, so.

That had to be a great feeling to get that done!!! SWEET!
Yes everything is moving pretty quick! It's all coming together. Will probably be a hold up while we still figure out coping/water line tiles.

For the ball valves/unions, is there any main reason to switch them out and install them now? Or let them run for a few years and replace/install as needed?

Because the PB won't do them for free when the time comes. The unions are $17 each and the diverters are $50. Add in some new 90s and you're at $200 in parts and $150 in labor.

If you are the least bit handy, we can walk you through it along with some YouTube vids. It's about as easy of DIY as can be, providing you can work a hacksaw. But if you aren't handy, you'll be paying a plumber down the road.

And also the principal that you spent 10s of thousands of dollars to not have dollar store valves, and no unions.

LOVE your picks!!! The 1x2 tile is my fav size! What color grout will you use for the waterline tile? White will make each tile pop out where a light to medium gray will allow them to blend together. BOTH are very pretty! They should have grout sticks for you to play with to see which one you like the best. Make sure to take them outside by the pool area.

Thanks! Going to go with a silver gray for the grout color. It's resting on the pool coping in the pic. Thinking it should help define the tiles a little bit without being too dramatic

The shell has had 8 days of watering. We are supposed to get some freezing weather overnight tonight. Does the shell still need to be watered to help with curing or is 8 days good to go?

You get most of the benefit after 7 days of watering. Watering more will add some additional strength.

Is that a bedroom window? Just a thought but I had to relocate my equipment pad to provide more than 5ft of space from a nearby non-fixed window.

Pentair Installation Manual specifies the heater exhaust vent be 3 foot distance from a window or door. And the bottom of the window be 4 feet above the heater.
