yup! just did. did not realize that was a drop down. Now it informed me debug not enabled and instructs to start without debugging or change it in properties etc
and I just started without debugging

In that same box, choose configuration manager and make sure release is set in all boxes.

That looks like the simulator. You want the actual iPad under iOS Local Devices
