New pool owner

Just bought a house with a pool never owned one. Got it just about right but some times my ph leve is a little low and everything else is good. Aldo I have a de filter and when I cleaned the pool with the suction hose the psi kept going real high but not over 20? Any suggestions ?

What does the water look like?
A psi of 20+ could be normal depending on your setup.
