    Pool Math........The App

Thanks for the quick reply. I did just as you suggested. Deleted and reinstalled and it’s now working with no problem! Just to note I had gone and checked the app on my iPad and had no issues opening it at all.

    Pool Math........The App

I’m having issues getting the app to load on my iPhone X. It shows the app opening (full screen logo) and then immediately crashes. I have an active subscription through September 2018 and I have no restrictions enabled on my phone. Is there a known issue? I have version 134 loaded on the phone...

New in-ground in swampy Louisiana. Build is ON!!!

So there was some interest in how rye grass would work as a temporary ground cover over winter. So here's a couple of pictures Right after we planted the seed - it hasn't sprouted yet... It took a week to first notice it sprouting. This picture is one week after I first noticed it had...

    New Pool Build - TX

Oh, Wow, Dang. That is a a heck of a water feature. I'm lost for words, and that over a picture on the internets. I'm guess its utterly fabulous in person. How is my/Glocks cave doing? (asking the important questions here). From the figures you want to get your pH down, you TA up (and...

Hey Karen, I wanted to update you on the rye grass, so it got sowed, it lay there for a week doing nothing except getting watered, we also had a couple of freezes. I was wondering if it was going to work. Then I noticed sprouting, I want to say last Wednesday right before the workers came to...

New pool build in North Texas! A long and skinny pool....

That looks fantastic cc. You went with french gray plaster too? In our pool (we have the diamondbrite version) it makes the water the exact same color as our tiles, we have the same glass tiles as you. It is so utterly beautiful, I know you are going to love it. Especially with your infinity...

New in-ground in swampy Louisiana. Build is ON!!!

Ah so its been a week or so, I've been ticking along, keeping the chemistry in line waiting on his lordship the pool builder to grace me with sending people down to finish off the punch out list. Well we were still waiting on the holy grail, I mean the spa stone to be hewn from solid rock down...

I'm glad you guys are getting some progress going! I can't wait to see you guys get plastered... Ahh, pool school. I offered to teach my PB something but he mumbled something about having xx years experience in the pool business, so I figured he had it covered... Seriously though, my...

Well you see they ran the pipe OVER the plastic neck of both my skimmers, despite my complaining about it, they told me it was all good. So of course the pool only drained down to the level the pipe is at, which unfortunately is as high as the coping. As I told my PB by email that apparently...

    Pool Skimmer Leaf Filter

Why on earth would you want to design something that stops leaves going in a skimmer. You do realize its whole function is to skim the leaves and debris off the surface to keep the pool clean right? I think most people would rather empty a plastic basket full of leaves than spend a day...

I'll have you know I sat in the spa because it was warm enough ahead of the storm front to do so, well until it started pouring and lightning everywhere.... I wish you guys could join me - either in my spa or by being done too! On the plus side the torrential rain taught us my pool overflow...

    1963 pool resurection

Oh, it looks so nice all full of water, and your daughter's smile makes it all so worth it! I hope you get to enjoy it before it gets too cold - at least the spa! That step tile is really nice against the white plaster too! How far you've come from a tree planter to this!

I'm interested in how long it takes you to heat it. We have about 12,000 gallons, the spa is 800. Granted we have a 250K BTU heater, but it took an hour to raise the temp from 68 to 94 in the spa, based on how long it took to heat the whole pool one degree, we figured it would easily take about...

I'll take - codswallop that the PB feeds you to keep you compliant for $500 please, Alex.... What is an email from a PB giving you a schedule. That being said - I'm keeping everything crossed that there is truth to this schedule. Because there is nothing better to do when you are stuffed...

Question for DIYers. Can you help me diagram the best way to plumb this fire table?

Honestly I'd check with your local building inspection office. Down here in Louisiana, where the building codes are way less strict than in California, you cannot do any installation of gas fixtures unless you are a licensed plumber. If you find out you can do it yourself - you use galvanized...

New Pool Construction Project in Houston: 2nd Time is a Charm

Well, I might be your woman, Jay. Husband home brews and makes a mean IPA, and I just spent the day laying more sod, so landscaping should be a cinch....Of course we are all out of cash, that went the way of our pool builder...

So, Jimbo, translation from PB into normal human language - plaster by around February... I personally refused to believe it was happening until I saw it and I never did, because I was in Houston when it happened. In fact I still don't believe I have plaster. I believe I'm dreaming, a...

New in-ground in swampy Louisiana. Build is ON!!!

cc - thanks for the landscape recommendations. That corner is quite sunny in summer - the fence side with not much planted in it is on the south side of the property - the fence shades it, more so in winter with the lower sun elevation. So we are holding off on planting there - probably do some...

I hate brushing...10 days in and there is still a ton of dust in the pool. I think the plumber is coming tomorrow to run the gas line for the heater. Its a good thing I assumed there would be no PB crew on site today to finish as promised. Because you totally know there was no one. LOL. Its...
