    Captain we have a leak!!

Overnight test with Skimmer lines plugged and water level still dropped. Systematically ruling things out. I did notice some weak grout spots where the skimmer entry meats the tile. Going to let it keep dropping and see if it stops or keeps going below skimmers. Either way going to...

    Captain we have a leak!!

I spent an hour on Sunday with dye and a syringe trying to find something leaking. No luck. I also inspected the entire pool surface several times over underwater with a good set of goggles on. Nothing apparent jumped out anywhere that I could visually see. I have 2” plugs arriving...

    Captain we have a leak!!

No air at all in my pump on the suction side. The pool has two drains on the bottom fairly close together. One area that I am going to investigate is that I have a skimmer door that is sticking, might be a clue to a problem.

    Captain we have a leak!!

I’m in the midst of troubleshooting a leak and figured I start a thread to get advice from everyone. 1. I first started to notice their might be a problem as I was seeing the salt level in my pool drop. I just converted to a SWG and this dropping level of salt tipped me off on their might be...

    Stenner pump on suction side?

I don’t think that is the case, it is diluted down to 8% and its being injected in at the rate of an ounce an hour, it is no more acidic than the chlorine I was feeding into it for the past 9 years. There are many people that have systems like this and I got the idea from this thread...

    Stenner pump on suction side?

That is a yes, and why is it a No?

    Stenner pump on suction side?

Greetings, Converted my pool to SWG a few weeks ago and have been working on an auto acid system to keep PH in check. I had a suction side saddle in place from removal of a Liquidator chlorine system and used that port to build a passive acid system. I used a acid proof adjustable valve...

    Landscaping ideas

Greetings, Our home and pool are approaching 9 years old and I have had it with the ornamental grass that we had planted around the pool. Love the look, hate the maintenance that it has created around and in the pool, so I ripped them out. Now I have a large area on the backside of the...

    Done with Pentair LED’s?

Those look like some quality lights, but at $2300 to replace all three I’m not sure I will go this route.

    Done with Pentair LED’s?

If you have the 5G model you have gotten lucky. Pentair is on the 4th generation of the circuit board as they overheat and fry some of the components. When the first few were replaced under warranty for me the pool tech that did the repair said to expect them to fail again and said that he...

    Done with Pentair LED’s?

“The lifespan of all color changing LED pool lights is about 20 microseconds.” So true, and regular LEDs in the home haven’t been much better in my experience! Replacing all three lights with the internal repair kit seems like the best option, trying to decide if its work the $1K just to...

    Done with Pentair LED’s?

My pool is approaching 9 years old and I have had it with the Pentair Intellibright LEDs. I have one spa and two pool lights. They all failed under warranty, one of them more than once, and now only 1 light out of the three is working. Crazy my last pool that I owned for over 16 years had...

SWG conversion in pool with natural stone

Salt level was approximately 1400 before I started. It took 7 40lb bags to bring it up to 3500ppm where it currently sits right now.

SWG conversion in pool with natural stone

SWG conversion is complete. I ended up installing a CircuPool RJ-45. I had a spare aux relay unused inside my intellitouch panel and was able to wire the CiruPool controller to it. This way I can program on and off times for the SWG from ScreenLogic.

SWG conversion in pool with natural stone

Starting my conversion this weekend to a salt pool. Pool was at 1400PPM for salt and I added 4 x 40lb bags of pool salt. Bumped the level up to 3400. I’ll test again tomorrow, as I will be plumbing in and wiring up the salt cell.

SWG conversion in pool with natural stone

Agree, but every Pentair product I haven’t had the best luck with in my pool. Two of three LED lights, defective circuit boards, Controller defective circuit board and one of the variable pumps also went out. All between 6 and 24 months. If doing DIY Install, Pentair cuts the warranty to...

SWG conversion in pool with natural stone

Only one transformer in my panel. I may research some other brands before I go down the Pentair path. They have a pretty pathetic warranty if you DIY install the product.

SWG conversion in pool with natural stone

Thanks for the info, I do have intelliTouch and screen logic system that I use. From what I am reading on the Pentair site it looks like I only need the Cell, the power center appears needed for a standalone deployment.

SWG conversion in pool with natural stone

Jim, No only thing we’ve ever had is some calcium build up due to hard well water that we have been able to keep under control and has not been an issue. Now the next question for everyone, what brand of SWG? Being everything is Pentair on the pool, Should I go with their power bank and...

SWG conversion in pool with natural stone

Greetings, My pool is 9 years old and I am considering adding a SWG system. When it was built, the pool builder was anti SWG, he was old school. The pool has been fairly trouble free as pools go, but dealing with liquid chlorine has always been a pain. The amount of plastic jugs and the...

    Pesky leak

I figured it out, simple fix but took a while to track this one down. So what was happening is the auto fill valve was never fully closing, It had small bits of gravel stuck in the valve. At night when we typically run dishwasher and laundry, with that valve being semi open, it would...
