No one will notice that, specially at that depth. Even though it's a mistake (you have every right to demand they fix), I wouldn't want them to cut any more concrete and potentially weaken the pool shell to correct it / install two round drains.

I would go with rigid pvc and fittings. Two 45's instead of 90's to reduce flow restriction (or the long sweep 90's) if that is a concern. It's common practice but I never liked baking and bending rigid pvc, seems like it should weaken it some.

Personally I would opt to hide it. Some bushes around it, or a tiki hut / shed or anything to save you the hassle of moving it. It would cost less to build an attractive shed on top of it, and that would give you outdoor storage for pool toys. Moving the pad further away will also decrease...

The Hayward filter is bigger. I asked Pentiar about this, they replied "for a self install the warranty would only be 60 days parts only" The 3 item deal doesn't apply for DIY builds.​

On new builds - current code states you need two drains one pipe. Or no drain at all. I can't imagine it being too costly for a pool company to install the new drains. Get a few estimates to find out. However removing the bottom drain all together and getting downward pointing return jets...

I prefer geometric. I like auto covers, lap swimming and the classic look. I think it also depends on your yard shape and what you can see from the windows. Get some string and outline the proposed shape in your yard. Give yourself some time to decide as it's permanent.

Since they are relatively new - you could plumb and cap where you want lights and wait a few years for more data and reviews / product improvements. That is my plan.

It wouldnt hurt, but I don't know if it is heavy enough to help... I believe standard pratice is to drill a hole in the bottom after it is drained. Once repairs are done the hole is repaired. I am no expert though.

Very very nice design. Something to consider - I've read a lot of people do not end up using the attached spa - but they add a lot to the pool cost. You could probably remove it and make room for 2 more loungers on the tanning ledge and see how much that drops the price. Like others...

I agree it depends on where the pool is at in your yard. Also how high the jets are depends on your pump - you can put valves and adjust the distance.

I also like the seating niche a lot!
