Hi Everyone!

Apparently, my husband and I getting a pool has inspired my mother. She wants an above ground pool but in her "motherly" fashion, she has assigned me to get it done for her. From another state. LOL!

Anywho, I contacted a few pool builders in the Atlanta area and I didn't receive many call backs which was a little disheartening. The one who called back told me that he didn't recommend salt water pools for above ground because it would need replacing in five years. Well, that wasn't going to work because my mother definitely wants a salt water generator. I figured I would start working on her pool once mine was complete but this guy from the PB that called me back reached out directly to her since he hadn't heard back from me (which I had no intention on calling him back because he was trying to talk her out of what she wanted). Suddenly, he has the ability to get an above ground pool that would be suitable for a SWG. I honestly have no idea what makes a good above ground pool. A lot of the articles I read contradicts a previous article I read. Here are the specs:

Looks a little high to me. But pool builders rarely take on above ground pools, so the markup is understandable.

The Matrix brand of above grounds handle salt water fine also.

Ideally you'd order the pool and equipment yourself and just hire a competent handyman to install it for you.

(Look like you'll have to hire a licensed electrician if power needs to be run anyway.)

I've put up 2 so far about that size for family and friends.

There is nothing to it once the site is level. A few tools, pickup full of sand, and a long weekend.

I'm sure others will chime in here soon with thoughts about the specific line items.

The one thing I have picked up on so far is the pump. It is a single speed. You want the two speed for save money on electric. Mine is on low speed for filtering during the day. I use high speed when I vacuum or we want to make a "lazy river".

I will keep going over it to see what else I see.

I bought my pool and found a person willing to do a "Saturday" job around his job with the pool company.

The number one thing with above ground pools is the site prep!!!!!!!! That can make or brake the pool.
