Tests were done this morning on a somewhat cloudy day. I have added 20 oz or so of muriatic acid and will test ph in another hour.
Ch has always been high, its the CYA that I'm concerned about...
Since my last post I can report that the wasps have disappeared. I don't know if they died, or are going to another pool, or if the 115+ temps for the last week did them in, or if the algaecide did it. But their gone, didn't have any yesterday..
In one of my previous posts the wasp problem came up and how to stop them from coming to the pool. I brought this up with the pool store guy that I get my HASA chlorine from and he recommend an all purpose algaecide from All-Clear. He said one of the ingredients, dimethyl benzyl ammonium...
Are you using HASA bulk chlorine? The active cl is 12.5% which is the higher than you get at any of the retail stores. My pool store sells 4 gallons for 15.00 and change, Are you losing a lot at nite??
Last year I would have to add 33-36 oz of chlorine each night to maintain a cl of 7. This year I have to ad 56-63 oz ea morning. Almost double
