Since my last post I can report that the wasps have disappeared. I don't know if they died, or are going to another pool, or if the 115+ temps for the last week did them in, or if the algaecide did it. But their gone, didn't have any yesterday..

This has 9% more of the ammonium chloride than the stuff I'm using. Application seems to be the same. I think I paid $11.00 or so at the pool store..

I add 36-40 oz every day.

I test every few days. My pool gets 40 oz of chlorine every morning and usually 20 oz of acid on the days that I test..

My store never has them..

Are you using HASA bulk chlorine? The active cl is 12.5% which is the higher than you get at any of the retail stores. My pool store sells 4 gallons for 15.00 and change, Are you losing a lot at nite??

OCLT shows a loss of .5. I did find the problem, pool math showed my chlorine source at 6%, I'm using 12.5% LOL.

Last nite i did a CL check and it came out to 14. I added 33 oz to bring it up to 16. This morning, around 6:30 it showed cl at 16.. No loss overnight.

So I retested today after a few very busy days. CL 14 CC 2.5 CA 600 TA 70 CYA 35 PH 7.5 shouldn't the increase in stabilizer increas the CYA? That didn't work and now my CH is way high at 600. I will lower the water level a little using the back wash hose.. Pool is crystal clear and yes...

OCLT shows 19. Looks like It worked. I will boost it up to 25 for the day.

Kept at 20 today. Just checked 7:00 pm and it showed 20. Last check was about 2 hours ago. Will do an OCLT again and raise to 25 as I have to go to work Its crystal clear..

retested FC at 5:30am and it was 12. Most of the stabilizer has been absorbed...

Its 10:15pm FC 11 PH 7.2Most of the 30 oz stabilizer has dissolved. Will do another OCLT to see if the stabilizer has helped.

Thanks for the reply. Did an OCLT test and the FC was 5.5. Thats of loss of 2. Is that normal? As for CYA I would like to get it up to 30-40 range.I've put approx 30 oz of stabilizer in a sock, sitting in the skimmer.

I have a bottle of granular and put 30 oz in a sock sitting in the skimmer. If I recall CH fill was high at 250+. - - - Updated - - - I used 60 oz of chlorine and am waiting a bit to lower the PH. Lower to 7.5 or 7.2??
