I hadn't tested for awhile and these are the results:

Cl 12
cc.5
PH 8.5++
ch 750
Al 100
CYA 20

Tests were done this morning on a somewhat cloudy day. I have added 20 oz or so of muriatic acid and will test ph in another hour.

Ch has always been high, its the CYA that I'm concerned about. Pool math says to add 83 oz of stabilizer. I have some but will get more.

Pool is as clear as can be but I think I have black algae on the ceramic trim at the water line. I have scraped about half of the tile, using a steel brush, and should finish it today.

Question is should I slam it or just raise the cl to 15 or so and maintain that?

FYI -- your CSI is very high. Even if you lower your pH it will still be high.

We here in the SW desert have to drain due to CH rise. You are due. I would plan on it once the summer winds down in November.

Take care.
