If you have pool lights, you will need to remove them from the niche, clean it out, and leave it open so it is exposed to SLAM level FC. Same goes for any ladders, steps, remove any that you can and scrub. Brush/scrub every nook and cranny including the skimmer throat.
Make sure all brushes, leaf rakes, all pool tools, etc. get exposed to the SLAM level. Also check the area where the pool tools are stored and make sure they are not reintroducing something back into the pool.
Lastly, I suggest you bump SLAM level up to about 20 FC tonight.

Will Do! The FC is holding even better today. Yesterday I had a drop of 13.5 and today it is down to 6 in the same amount of time.

There was so much slime like coating on the skimmer that when i cleaned it, the skimmer had cloudy water in it. lights were not bad though. The spa on the other hand was bad! Scrubbed every inch of it including the jets, drains and nozzles. whole spa became cloudy which i drained and refilled.
Now here is the concerning part: there are two spot in the spa where the plaster was crumbling. when i brushed them vigourously, the plaster crunbled and revealed dark green algae hidden behind. The algae was scrubbed off but I would like to patch these spots even though the plaster is still there and I am not worried about leaks right now. But is there a product i can use to patch so that it is smooth and not rought which makes it dificult to scrub?
Another OCLT tonight. Had the same 3 ppm FC loss in the morning today. Holding FC at 20 for another night.

I don't know. You can do a search in the Under Construction forum for 'plaster repair' for some ideas. Someone will be along to comment. It would help if you would post a pic of the offending spots

Oh yeah! OCLT passes with zero to 0.5 loss in FC!!! Should I go Onwards to raise CYA or let it remain in shock one more night just to be sure?

What do you do about hoses for stuff like a Kreepy Krauly that might have algae growing in them, especially corrugated types of hoses? Pour straight chlorine in and swish it around?
Now the big question: In about a week, I have to leave town again for about 9 days. Should i get a floating feeder and use pucks of trichlor to maintain FC while gone?
I dont have any corrugated hoses, etc. I let the pool vacuum (I have a Dolphin) vacuum for a couple of hours with the FC held at 15. Washed leaf basket, brush, handheld vacuum with pool water by dipping in the pool and scrubbing. If I had a corrugated hose, I would leave it dipped in the pool while shocking, rinse it and repeat a few times.

Is there any reason why you couldn't leave the Kreepy Krawly running while shocking?
High FC levels might harm the parts of a vacuum so you will have to take that chance at your own risk. I did take that chance with my dolphin but so far so good.
If it were my equipment I would keep it running but the list had warned me when i asked them about running the dolphin at shock FC levels.
I would still rinse the hose separately also. Especially sending water the opposite direction it usually travels in it to dislodge buildup, if any.

The active chlorine at shock level is still less than in an unstabilized pool with a few ppm of FC. The added damage is likely minimal.
Thank you all for the help and support... I am on my way to raise CYA and stabilize the pool. I will be replacing water next season or as soon as the watering restrictions are lifted. This was an expensive mistake I made, but you live and learn!

Then I double socked it and hung it in front of the pool return at the deep end. The water jet made the sock swing like a pendulum and also rotate. I also gave the sock some squeezes after an hour. This dissolved the CYA in about two-three hours. I repeated with another set of skimmer socks. The next day I did the CYA test and found it exactly where it should have been after the addition.
So like others have said on the list: I'm not wasting money on liquid CYA!
Now I am trying to get the TA down. After the first dose of MA to bring pH down to 7.1, the pH just doesnt want to go up beyond 7.2 with aeration!
I have a pond air pump with two air-stones in the pool for aeration along with the spa spillways helping.

pH is stuck at 7.2? Sounds like a good 'problem' to have
I suggest you just forget about trying to lower the TA. Each time the pH reaches
