Year 2 with Pool Bioguard 3-Step (Help)

Hello,

We bought out house last July and the previous owner did the Bioguard 3-Step process
-BioGuard’s SilkGuard Complete™ Tabs and SilkGuard Complete™ Sticks
-BioGuard Smart Shock
-Algae Complete

What he did:
-2 bags of shock every other Sunday
-16 ounces of Algicide every other Sunday (opposite of Shock)
-1 Block of Chlorine in both strainer every week

I followed this exactly when we got in the house and to be honest it kept the pool spotless and was very easy to maintain. We also run the sand filter 12/12 and I manual vacuum and skim a few times a week.

I am tempted to do the same process this year since we have alittle of each product left over and it was so easy but can anyone recommend me similar products or steps that will yield the same results? (more affordable?)
