With the pump off there shouldn't be any pressure. You will want to release the water that will be in there before you open the filter up. You should have a valve on top for doing that.

Did you resolve your filter pump pot issue? Is it full of water now with no air? Is there no air bubbling out of your returns?

For your FAS/DPD chlorine test, you want it clear. One more drop on the sample above you showed us and that should be your level...

Just wanted to clarify that the OP's photo shows what happened after the original test sample was clear, and then was allowed to sit for a few minutes. That effect (turning pink again after standing for a while) is normal and should be ignored - it doesn't mean you should add more drops or change the test results you wrote down when you did your FC and CC tests.

Katie, I've been peeking in occasionally to see how things are going with your very unique pool - looking a lot better than in the beginning of the thread!

Hi! Thanks for your help everyone! The "scary" part is over! I'm now waiting for the water to seep out of my filter to clean it. Yay! I can't wait to see my filters! Here's video showing the lack of foresight of whoever designed this pump system placement... In a closet? Really?

My pool wasn't green when I started using the filter (I had diverted water away from the filter to just recirculate through the pipes & my pool). How did it get this bad? Oi.

And yeah..........who put it there???????? Oh well you can tell they never cleaned it so.............it did not matter!

We will get you set up with a pipe/hoses/something to help you drain it.
