Wrong Spa Light. Didn't read the instructions. Need a do over.

I am an idiot.
I bought a spa light to replace mine. What I didn't read (The instructions because I am a man dammit) is that this required a 120ac to 12v transformer.
I stupidly just connected the 2 wires to the hot / neutral at the junction box, flipped the switch and heard a neat sound followed by a cool smell and no light.
I assume I ruined the whole thing and that is $250 in the trash.

So I am looking for the normal 20 year old spa light that just has hot, neutral, and ground and runs on full power. I don't want to figure out the transformer, yatta yatta new fangled stuff.
It seems every light I look for is a color changing led 12V light like the one I just turned into a smoke signal system.

I feel like last time I replaced this thing I just was able to find run of the mill $80 spa light, wired it up and off to the races.
Now I see the 12v ones for $250 and what I think are the old school ones but there are $500 +

Any tips on what I should be looking for and have the prices on these things really sky rocketed?
