Would either of these snow melt products work/be safe for pools?

I have someone up in NJ right now who can pick up some of these for me if they are worth it.

or

Pool store sells 50lb labs for $50, so these would be much cheaper if they would work the same based on volume needed to add to my pool in the summer. I could get a couple of these and have them driven back next month to use if it would be the same.

I used a 50lb. bag of Snow Joe ice melt from Amazon, which I gradually mixed in a bucket to dissolve before introducing it to the pool. It was a tiny bit dirty, but no solid chunks of anything. You could see a little hint of tan in the bucket but once it hit the pool the color and cloudiness was gone. They claim 94% pure calcium chloride, so I have some mystery contaminants but it doesn't seem to have caused me any headache.
