Will adding calcium chloride to a vinyl pool affect chemical balance

I had an original CH of 50, will there be any effect, on the chemical balance if I raise the CH. And is it necessary for a vinyl pool?

Is your heater a gas heater? If so, a bit more calcium may be in order, up to 100 ppm total. But not for the vinyl liner.

We have had reports of adding calcium chloride has reduced FC levels dramatically. Why, we do not know. Chemistry says it should not happen, but members have reported it.

So if you add any, test and mange your FC closely.
