Will a powerwash or acid wash save this pool?

So I'm closing on a house in June that has a pool that hasn't been opened in a few years. My game plan is to powerwash first, and if that doesn't work, then decide to resurface or acid wash.

My question is do those little veins tell me anything about the surface. It that an indication of a surface that need replacement?

Welcome to TFP.

You need to get into the house and uncover the pool and wash down some areas to see what you got.

is there water in the pool or is the pool empty?

For budgeting purposes I think the odds are good that pool will need a new plaster job fairly soon..

Water was drained but there appears to be about 2-4 feet of standing water in the deep end

My view is it is never a good sign when a pool is empty during a house sale. A house with a filled pool is much more attractive and sellable. It is a red flag that there are problems with the pool that prevented it from holding water.

You will find out the situation once you get in.

I bought the house in January in New York. Tough to have the pool open, but I know what you mean :)
