Why Floaters?

I sound like one of the old timers, but first you need a TF-100 test kit. If all you use is pucks, you are likely causing your cyanuric acid to build up, and that is not a good thing. The more CYA you have, the more chlorine you need. Better to use liquid chlorine, most likely, but find out your CYA level first. I use liquid chlorine but in the rare instance when CYA is low due to lots of rain, I do use the tabs in a plastic floater. I usually put the floater in the spa, since it spills out into the pool, and that way I don't have to worry about the floater drifting over next to a skimmer and staying there.
