Why does low FC cause cloudy water?

The kids went in the spa today. They were all crammed in there, and after a few hours it went a little bit cloudy, despite being crystal clear earlier on. I checked Fc and it had dropped to 1, vs 6 beforehand. Cya is 50.

I’ve noticed that low Fc causes cloudy water beforehand, but never realised it happens so quickly. What is the cloudiness?
 
Most likely cause in this case is the start of an algae bloom. That’s a quit a drop in FC, are you guessing what I’m guessing?
