Just wanted to jump on this thread and to see if anyone responds. I recently switched to a salt system. Ever since then I've been getting this white sand like material in my robot basket (fine mesh) the only thing I can think of is calcium. I need to be better at adding MA more than once a week since my ph can get up to 8.1 every week. Anybody figure out this mystery?

Welcome to TFP.

SWGs create calcium flakes when it reverses polarity to shed calcium from its plates.

That is normal operation and prevents scaling within the cell.

That seems like a pretty quick jump in pH? Can you provide more details. Are you using a test kit or strips? Don't see any logs of your tests?

What is your TA?

Post a complete set of test results from your own test kit.

You using PoolMath?
