Used some steel wool on water line calcium (I know, dumb). Some small bits broke off, fell to the bottom in a couple of spots, and rusted.

Went after them with pulverized vit C tablets. Is working although will take a repeat treatment. But...

Pump was off for a time and I could now see clumps of white precipitate on the bottom. Brushed them and ran the pump for several hours but...

After stopping the pump for several hours the clumps had returned, fewer than before however.

What is this white powdery precipitate after ascorbic acid? Does it preclude swimming till gone?

Thanks you

Most Vitamin C tablets are not just ascorbic acid. Binders, fillers, other additives will not dissolve. Just vacuum it up.

No issue swimming.

Kept on trying with ascorbic acid but was a pain since I had 50-1000 small rust spots. And ascorbic acid eats chlorine. So finally removed them with a pumice stone. Over out on this. Thank you.
