Hi everyone,

Newbie here. This is only our second season. I've been maintaining the chemicals on my own and has been doing well. However, lately I've noticed white powder on our pool ledge. I've read and asked some people and was told that I have to lower the TA to 60-70 but I've been doing that every week putting 2 gallons of MA and I still have the white powder. Any ideas what's causing it?

Pool is 18,000 gallons SWG

Thank you in advance!

What chemicals do you add to pool? What type of equipment are you using; filter especially?

Photos of the equipment pad, photos of the pool in general, and the white powder in question are helpful.
You can confirm the substance is calcium scale if you can collect it; a few drops of Muriatic Acid to the white powder can tell you it's calcium if it's fizzes.
