SPRINGFIELD
All my chemicals are within balance but I have white floating snowflake like pieces. They are small and can be seen when you look at it but hard to get pics. Chlorine sanitized not salt. Sand filter. I'm not sure if it's calcium or white water mold or something else. It's slimy when I net it up. Small pieces. It's all over the pool surface. We slammed and it didn't get rid of it. No cottonwood trees no trees at all. Cleaned filter. Did algaeside did first aid and flock. Nothing. What now? What is it? Pool 25k gallons.

Probably best to start with a full set of water test results. In many cases that helps point us in the right direction. In the majority of cases, algaecides, the local store First Aid snake oil, and floc are not the remedy that's for sure. Those products can cause more problem, so let's start with accurate test results.

Also be sure to update your profile and signature. You've been with us since 2017 but there is no info loaded at all to tell us about your pool and equipment. :poke:

OP you came to the right place, I saw your post on FB too!
Without any other information regarding levels, it'll be hard to get advice.
My vote is - it's probably pollen. Clicking on your profile shows you posted about this very same thing a couple years ago.
I know people suggested maybe cottonwood on your FB post, and you said no cottonwood trees near you, but they don't need to be near you to find your pool...I speak from experience. Besides cottonwood there are a zillion other tree varieties and weeds that produce pollen and various types of fluff.
The pictures also look a little like springtails, but if they were, you'd notice them moving, so probably not.
I got a Betta Skimmer robot last fall and it has been helping me this season with all the pollen floating in. Nice little do-hicky.
