Hayward Turbo Cell (T-CELL-5)
Hey folks,

I have a AquaNature by Hayward SWG with a Hayward Turbo Cell-5. I am getting different salt readings from various tests and trying to figure out which is most accurate and how to possibly calibrate my system to show the accurate amount.

I have a 10,000 gallon pool. I put 3 x 20kg of poop salt in it since opening a month ago.

My machine is showing 2800. The pool store result was 3200, and my Taylor K-1766 salt test gave me about 3400 roughly based on what is considered a proper drop amount.

If my machine is showing so low, how can i get it to read more accurately?

The cell was perfectly clean when opening the pool. I looked up videos on how to re-calibrate by turning it off and back to auto until the machine clicks (turns on) and then cycles down the reading until it lands steadily on the value then switch it to super chlorinate and back to auto.

In other videos it says i should go through the diagnostic choices until i get to the t- menu to select my cell, but this machine doesn’t appear to have that option when i cycle through the diagnostic readings.

Any idea what’s going wrong?

Hayward SWGs cannot be calibrated.

There is no salt sensor. Salinity is calculated based on volts and amps performance of a new cell.

Add 200 ppm more salt to make your system happy.

You cannot.

Nothing is wrong.

That is the way Hayward cells behave as they age. Their salt readings diverge from actual.

When it becomes less than 75% of actual it is getting time to replace the cell.
