Hello, and thank you. I'm Im at the point where I need to check the impeller. I think so because:
Pump basket half full
Sand filter zero pressure
Drainking'd the skimmer line (i did the tennis ball and the hose/rag, too)
No pressure on return lines (removed the jandy check valve to take out of the equation)
No pressure at filter on waste, recirc, filter, rinse.
Backwash is clear. Mulltiport gasket gives no problems.
Suction side valves set to open/shared
No leaks identified with shaving cream twst.
pump pot oring lubricated and appears to be good.
Replaced old (bad) filter gauge.
About the system:
About 23k painted plaster pool
Hayward variflo xl sand filter
XtremepowerUS self priming pump (1.75hp??)
Built-in spa, one skimmer, one bottom drain that does not appear to work.
Right before the problem:
I noticed the gauge was bad, looked over and found the pump pot was loaded with sticks (not my pool), over next day, tons of bleached acorns etc cleared itself from the line with new leaves.
The final straw:
Lots of junk got sucked into the skimmer from a bad trigger on the skimmer basket, the pump basket seemed displaced/backwards. Pool guy came, found no chlorine and chonked a bunch of granules into skimmer and left. Globs of granules and bleached acorns found there way to the pump pot.
... I have read every thread i can on troublefree pools... i think thr impeller is next, given the debris problems and ruling so much out.
