Where is the leak and how do I begin to fix it?

I just opened my pool Sunday, and began to SLAM yesterday. I just noticed there’s water coming out of the pump at the bottom. How do I even begin to figure out where the leak is coming from? It sounds like there’s water swishing around where the dial is (don’t remember if that was normal. Only second year I’ve had a pool), and I see a little bit of sand in the glass bulb.

Looks like your filter is leaking at the drain plug. Make sure the rubber gasket is in the bottom of the screw-on cap and put plenty of silicone grease on it.

Water swishing suggests there is air in the top of the filter. Some sand in the sight glass is normal.
