[h=2]Where do I go from here?[/h]
Test results, as of 5/31
pH - 7.2
Total A - 130
FC - 3
TC -3
TH - 250
CYA - 100
TDS - 2200
I had the test done at a pool store to make sure our home testing matched up. They did not alert me to the high CYA level and the effect that would have/and has had on our chlorine as you clearly state here.
I did add their recommended 1.5 lbs of soda ash to raise the pH. So....my pool is greenish and cloudy and has been for the most part during last year or two, with occasional breakthroughs. I followed someone's advice and poured in nine bags of shock two nights ago - no change. I have taken some water out and refilled in the past, but no where near the amount indicated on your poolMath table that would bring my cya levels down to 30-40. I am thinking that must be the place to begin but hope to get your advice as to the best course of action. It has been an incredibly rainy spring here in Northern Virginia for what thats worth. I just ordered a Taylor FAS-DPD kit.
