When to slam (or not too)

Kind of a beginner question, but the tfp rules specify that you should not need to slam your pool unless the FC goes to 0 or cc is greater than 0.5 or you have algae.

So if I maintain my pool at the recommended FC and a load of people come over and swim in it, I should just test it once they are gone and then if it doesn't meet the criteria above i.e. The FC is 1 then I can just bring it back up to recommended levels and all will be good?

You SLAM a pool if you have a pool with a failed OCLT or visible algae.

Not sure were you got the 'rules'.

Take care.

Yes if the water is clear that is what I would do, just bring it up to recommended level for your cya.
When I know I'm going to get a bunch of people in the pool I will bring the FC up to the high end of the range prior to everyone getting in the pool. Then check after the party is over and dose it again.

Being at or near the minimum prior to a party can be a recipe for algae....
