When is water temp too warm to close?

Just cleaned slammed and draining down pool below skimmer for cover. Happened to notice a mention of wait until pool water is below 60 degrees. I'm not but have already disconnected everything. Whats the downside? Low temps will be in lower 40s or 30s next week with highs in 60s.
Thanks in advance!!!!

If you have disconnected your pool pump and are no longer circulating water you might as well close it.

Raise your FC to half SLAM FC level if you can and add Polyquat 60. Mix it in the water the best you can. Read How_To_Use_Polyquat_60_in_Pool_Winterization.3F

The reasoning for waiting until the water temp is below 60* is you have a better chance to open with clear water. Same reasoning to open before the water temp rises about 60*. Close late/open early (unless you're in the business - then do it when the paying client wants).

Do as Allen (ajw22) suggests above since you already drained in anticipation of closing. Plan on opening early.
