Just above freezing up here in Manitoba. The heater will go on this weekend though. Better to spend the money on warm water rather than no use the pool at all.
Pool reached 83° here in NC today. No solar cover on it. The pool is in direct sunlight with no shade from 9 am until 6:30 pm. So, the last several hot sunny days have really warmed it up.
Big weather change coming tonight with highs only in the 70's for the next several days. I'm curious to see how fast the temp drops.
I've actually removed my cover from the pool and stopped messing with it since I hurt my shoulder worse. I'm up 5 degrees since yesterday at 75 just by letting the sun beat on the pool without the filter running! I took a swim at 5 (turned pump on) and it was really nice and felt good on the shoulder.
I'm pretty confident my pool thermometer is broken. It's been reading 74 degrees ever since we filled it up about a week ago and I've been in it three or four times since, and I'll tell you one of those times was near freezing cold for a Florida guy despite whatever that thermometer said. I would think the pool would cool overnight too, nope... at least not according to the thermometer. Any recommendations for a replacement?
I've had a couple from Walmart. Both broke. The tube comes loose from the scale. Look elsewhere for one. Got what I hope is a good one from the pool section of my local hardware store.
