What to put at Palm tree bases within pool deck

I’d go for medium or larger rocks. Something that doesn’t blow away/rinse away easily so its easy to clean the decks up. Some big rounded river rocks with a lighter hue would look amazing there with your deck color. The world is your oyster though. You can Get creative and put random neat stones in the mix. I have medium washed gravel in all my beds and have collected some unique stones when traveling over the years to add here and there.

3/4” landscape stones. Go to a supplier and pick a color.

On a general note - trees near pools are a bad idea and palm trees are problematic. Their root system spreads out very wide and shallow and goes toward water sources. The roots can become a tangled mess under the decking and destroy pipes, conduits and wiring. If you want them there, so be it. Just be aware they can cause problems down the road.

Indeed. I have read similar. These are Robellini Palms and they tend to max out at 12 ft. So they're not very big trees. Plus, they've been there since before we bought the house in 2021. And during our recent pool reno / deck expansion while everything was dug up, there were no root issues. So I think we're likely safe with these particular trees.
