Forecast is calling for strong thunderstorms with damaging winds, large hail, and possible tornadoes during the day tomorrow and tomorrow evening. Since our pool is surrounded by trees, I think I should turn the pump off before the storm hits and keep it off until Wednesday morning when the storm threat has passed to protect my new expensive pump from getting damaged if the skimmer fills up with leaves. Since I'm in the middle of a SLAM and the water is still green, should I get it up to SLAM level a few hours before the storm hits tomorrow morning or would this be a waste of chlorine since the water is already green and the chlorine will get consumed quickly? Also, do I need to turn the breaker off to the pump or should I just shut it off so it won't come back on?
