It does the small spray pattern shown in the photo in post #4 above for 14 hours a day and a larger spray that goes almost across the pool for an additional three hours.

My family's pool down in the Imperial Valley has a similar arrangement 3 heads along one side of the pool. With a bit of care adjusting the valves they can be set to cover maybe 75% of the surface. Good for getting the water back into the 80s when that string of 110-120 degree days comes along.
