I was pondering this as I started to slam my tub last night. I was trying to get the tub to 14-16FC with a CYA of 30. Then I started to think what if I miscalculated and brought it up to 20-30FC. Would that cause damage to the tub or would it just be bad for human use? 410 gallon tub.

A one time dosage above slam won't do harm. Let the FC drop (leave the tub open).

Or, use Hydrogen Peroxide...the amount in oz of 6% bleach it takes to raise your FC by X ppm's is equal to the amount of 3% H2O2 needed to lower the FC by X ppm's. 3% peroxide is typical in a drug store and most people use peroxide as an FC lowering chemical in spas where the water volumes are A LOT lower.

If your FC got to 25...I don't have your volume, but if it takes 10oz of 6% bleach to raise your FC from 16 to 25, it would take 10ox of hydrogen peroxide to lower your FC from 25 back to 16.

Very good info. This is in a 410 gallon tub.
